Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information the OMHL player portal collects, why, and how you can access, correct, or delete it. It applies to the player portal at this site — not to any in-person registration, payment, or waiver process the league runs separately.

OMHL is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and this policy is written to meet Canada’s federal privacy law (PIPEDA). The portal is for adult players only — league rules already require every player to be at least 19 years old.

What we collect

When a player is added to a roster, the commissioner records:

  • Name, jersey number, and position — shown throughout the site (rosters, stats, standings).

Once you claim your account and sign in, the rest of your profile is entirely up to you — added from your dashboard, not required at sign-in:

  • Contact details — mailing address, gender, and phone number.
  • Emergency contact — a name, relationship, phone number, and email for someone to reach if something happens to you at the rink.
  • Optional details — birthday, highest level of hockey previously played, and a self-rated skill level. None of these are required.
  • A profile photo and banner image, if you choose to upload one.

Why we collect it

Contact details are used to coordinate game check-ins and find spares when a team is short players. Your emergency contact is used for exactly what it says. Optional details help with season planning and team balancing. A photo, if you upload one, is shown on your public player profile and team pages.

Who else sees it

We don’t sell or share your information for marketing. The infrastructure this site runs on does handle your data as part of providing the service:

  • Firebase / Google Cloud — hosting, sign-in, and the database and file storage everything above lives in.
  • Resend — sends the portal’s transactional emails (sign-in links, check-in reminders). Only the emails those features need go through it.

We don’t use any analytics or advertising tools, and there’s no payment processor connected to this site today.

Cookies

The portal sets one cookie, used only to keep you signed in. It isn’t used for tracking or advertising, and this site doesn’t set any third-party tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Your information is kept for as long as your player account exists. See “Your rights” below for how to have it deleted.

Your rights

You can see and correct almost everything listed above yourself, any time, from your dashboard’s Personal Settings section once you’re signed in.

To request a copy of your data, a correction we didn’t cover above, or full deletion of your account, contact us at cliff@globalwellness.ca.
