What’s New

[0.25.3] — 2026-09-13

  • Fixed: The Sep 11 game between David's Sum41 and Andrew's Spirit of the West was missing a goalie for Sum41. David Leung played the whole game in net, but a problem with the score sheet had recorded him as a skater with no stats. His goalie line is back — 1 game played, 8 goals against — and his profile, game log and the standings have all been updated to match.

    • The score on that game still shows 7-7. The final score is added up from the goals credited to individual players, and one goal on each team is still waiting to be reported. It will read 8-8 once your captain has everyone's stats in.
  • Fixed: In a game that ended in a tie, the box score showed both goalies with an "L" in the Dec column. Tied games now show T for both goalies. Standings were never affected — both teams always got their point for a tie.

  • Fixed: Old links to the previous OMHL website now work again. Anything you had bookmarked on omhockey.com — a game's stats page, the schedule, the standings, a team roster, the rules — had been landing on a "page not found" error since the site moved over. Those links now take you to the matching page on the new site instead.

  • Fixed: If you had an OMHL team schedule subscribed in your phone or computer's calendar app, that subscription had quietly stopped working when the site moved — no error, the games just never updated. Those calendar feeds now point at the new site again. Most of the ones still being checked were for seasons that finished a while ago, so you may simply want to remove the old subscription and add a fresh one from the Schedule page.

  • Fixed: The OMHL crest at the top of every page could sit there half-drawn, with the browser tab's loading spinner never stopping. The logo image was being sent to your browser incorrectly by the service that hosts the site, so your browser sat waiting for a piece of it that was never coming. The crest now appears immediately, and the site has a proper icon in the browser tab and on your phone's home screen.

[0.25.2] — 2026-09-09

  • Improved: On a game's results page, the goalies table now shows GA — goals against — in place of the old shutout column. That column was blank unless the goalie pitched a shutout; GA tells you how many went in every game, and a shutout still stands out as a 0. Shutouts are unchanged everywhere they're counted — season stats, team pages and career totals.

[0.25.1] — 2026-09-08

  • Fixed: A few players were showing up on their team's roster with a name that led nowhere — clicking it said "Player not found" — while the account they actually sign in to showed no team, no games and no stats. This happened when someone signed up for an account but the league already had a record of them from past seasons: the signup created a second, empty record instead of connecting to their existing one. Jacob Hill, Eric Delorme and Sean Sinclair each had their full history reconnected to their real account, so their team, stats, check-ins and career totals all show up in one place again. Sean's 33 seasons and 938 games are back on one profile instead of split across two.

[0.25.0] — 2026-09-08

  • New: Games can now record a player who switched sides mid-game. If you're rostered on one team but end up playing for the other — a bench was short, or you swapped in the second half — the score sheet can now put you on that team as a SWAP. Play the whole game for the other side and it counts entirely for them (still one game played, your team of record doesn't change); split the game and you get a stat line for each bench, with your goals going to the right team's score and your game log showing you played for both. Same for goalies.
  • New: You can now reposition and zoom your profile photo and banner. After uploading, an Adjust button on your dashboard opens a preview where you drag to choose which part shows and use a slider to zoom in — handy when your face or the subject sits near an edge and the automatic centre crop clips it. It previews in the right shape (a wide strip for the banner, a circle for the photo), and what you set carries through to your public profile. Your original upload isn't changed, and uploading a new picture starts fresh from centred.
  • Fixed: The Career Stats table on your profile again lists your seasons newest-first. A season set up in the Commissioner Console could drop to the bottom of the table — below seasons from years earlier — instead of sitting at the top.
  • Improved: On a game's results page, the box score now shows each team's goalies above the skaters, and lists any rostered players who didn't dress in a muted "Did Not Play" group below the skater list.

[0.24.0] — 2026-09-05

  • New: A signed season waiver is now required before your first check-in each season, and you're prompted to sign it as soon as you log in — not only when a game is open. Checking in as In or Maybe (from the portal or a check-in email) shows the waiver text, three checkboxes, and a date-of-birth field the first time each season; submitting signs it and completes your check-in in one step. Every check-in after that is one click again. Checking in as Out never needs the waiver.
  • New: You can read the full waiver any time at a public /waiver page (linked in the footer next to Privacy and Terms), signed in or not, and sign it on its own at /portal/waiver.
  • New: If a captain adds you to a game as a spare, you now get an email with one-click I'm In / I'm Out / Maybe links — you confirm yourself instead of being marked "in" automatically. Until you reply you show as "Awaiting".
  • Improved: The check-in confirmation page and the waiver form now carry full OMHL branding — the crest, fonts, colours, and the same In/Out/Maybe icons used across the site — instead of plain unstyled pages.
  • New: A Report a Bug / Feature link in the site footer.
  • New: A What's New page — the version number at the bottom of every page is now a link to this list of plain-language notes on what's changed, release by release.

[0.23.0] — 2026-09-02

  • New: The profile address field has an "Enter manually" option — if the address search can't find your address, just type it in as free text.
  • New: Jersey number "00" is now accepted as its own number, separate from 0.
  • Improved: On phones, your profile's Last 5 Games and Career Stats tables switch to a trimmed layout that fits the screen instead of scrolling sideways.
  • Improved: After clicking In / Out / Maybe from a check-in email, the confirmation page now has a View game details button instead of dead-ending.
  • Fixed: A game's box score no longer goes blank after a team is renamed.
  • Fixed: Your profile now shows every team's current name, not the name it had back when a past game was scored.
  • Fixed: A goalie's game log shows T for a 0–0 tie instead of a "T?" placeholder.

[0.22.4] — 2026-09-01

  • Fixed: You'll no longer get "please check in" emails for a game you were only spare-listed on — those emails now go to rostered players only.
  • Fixed: The 2–4 letter abbreviation on every team crest (game pages, home, standings, bracket, schedule) now uses the short name the league set, instead of always being the first letters of the full team name.

[0.22.3] — 2026-08-31

  • Changed: Links in emails from the league now point at www.omhockey.com.

[0.22.1] — 2026-08-31

  • Fixed: A brand-new season's team pages and rosters no longer look empty before any games have been played.

[0.21.0] — 2026-08-23

  • New: Add to Calendar — download an .ics file or copy a subscribe link for the whole schedule or a single team, from the Schedule page and each team's page. You choose whether to include the full season or just games that haven't been played yet.
  • Improved: The Schedule team filter is now part of the page address, so a filtered view is shareable and bookmarkable, and it works on mobile through a dropdown (it used to be hidden entirely on small screens).

[0.20.1] — 2026-08-22

  • Fixed: The portal's Continue with Google button now shows the Google "G" icon.

[0.20.0] — 2026-08-22

  • New: Join the league — a self-service signup at /portal/join for people with no past roster record. It collects your name, email, jersey number, position, highest level of hockey played, and a skill rating; every request goes to the commissioner for approval.
  • Fixed: Jersey number fields let you type a number directly now, not only tap the +/- buttons.

[0.19.3] — 2026-08-21

  • Fixed: The Standings playoff bracket now shows a full best-of series — each game with its own date and score — instead of just the first game, and the "Final" badge only lights up once a series is actually clinched.

[0.19.1] — 2026-08-21

  • Fixed: The Career Stats table on your profile now stays up to date automatically as scores are posted and games are edited — it used to quietly go stale as a season went on.
  • Fixed: The season dropdown (Standings, Teams, Stats, Schedule) now lists seasons newest-year-first, and Fall → Summer → Winter within a year.
  • Fixed: Season pickers no longer show seasons that are still being set up.

[0.19.0] — 2026-08-21

  • Fixed: Profiles now show the right stats for players who play both skater and goalie — the Last 5 Games table renders each game by the position actually played that night, and season totals split skater and goalie games correctly.

[0.18.1] — 2026-08-20

  • Fixed: A goalie's goals and assists are now recorded and show on their profile's Last 5 Games, and count toward their team's score.

[0.18.0] — 2026-08-19

  • New: Personal Settings on your dashboard — Hockey Info, Contact Details, Emergency Contact, and Optional Details (birthday, highest level played, self-rated skill). Every field saves on its own with a "✓ Saved" confirmation; there's no page-level Save button.
  • New: Address entry uses live autocomplete instead of free text.
  • New: If you're missing a required Contact Details or Emergency Contact field, a short 2-step wizard walks you through it on login until it's complete — and reappears if those fields are ever cleared later.
  • New: You can change your own name, jersey number, and (for skaters) Forward/Defence position, and it shows on the current season's roster and stats right away. Switching to or from Goalie stays commissioner-only.
  • New: Privacy Policy (/privacy) and Terms of Service (/terms) pages, linked in the footer.
  • New: Claiming an account now asks you to agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy; if your account is already claimed, you're asked once the next time you sign in.
  • New: Uploading a profile photo or banner for the first time asks for a one-time confirmation that it may be shown publicly.
  • New: You can request deletion of your own account (double-confirmed) from the dashboard's Account section — this emails the commissioner, who does the actual removal.
  • Fixed: The login screen's layout was restored — email sign-in as the main action, Google sign-in secondary, with the logo and centered card.

[0.17.0] — 2026-08-13

  • New: Upcoming game pages show a Head-to-Head panel between the two teams — series record over the last 5 meetings, the last meeting's score, combined goals per game, and each team's current streak and recent form against the other this season.

[0.16.5] — 2026-08-13

  • New: The Stats page PTS/GP column is now sortable, like the other columns.
  • Fixed: The Points / Goals / Assists leader cards on the Stats page now each sort by their own stat, instead of just echoing whichever player was at the top of the table.

[0.16.4] — 2026-08-12

  • Improved: Your dashboard's Upcoming Games now shows your own team's next games plus any game you've been added to as a spare, instead of the next 3 games league-wide.
  • Improved: The dashboard check-in control uses the same compact button + slide-up picker as the game page on narrow screens.
  • Fixed: Commissioner-entered game times could display hours off (e.g. 3:00 AM instead of 7:00 AM).
  • Fixed: The Standings bracket and heading now make clear when matchups are still projected during the playoffs phase, rather than always reading "Regular Season".
  • Fixed: The Stats page regular-season / playoff split no longer goes stale after a game's type is changed.

[0.16.3] — 2026-08-12

  • Changed: Removed the top-bar hamburger menu on mobile — the bottom tab bar already covers Home / Schedule / Standings / Stats / Teams, Search and sign-in are in the top bar, and Rules is in the footer.

[0.16.2] — 2026-08-10

  • New: The Standings playoff bracket shows a "Projected matchups" note while it's still seeded from live standings; it disappears once real playoff games are generated.
  • Changed: On mobile, the Standings page shows the standings table (and bracket) first instead of four stat highlight cards.
  • Changed: Playoff matchup cards show the away team on the left and home on the right, matching the rest of the schedule.

[0.16.1] — 2026-08-10

  • Fixed: Team colour and name changes now show up on the home page, schedule, standings, stats, and search right away.

[0.16.0] — 2026-08-10

  • New: Check-ins and spares from the old omhockey.com "Game Status" page now sync onto this site automatically every couple of hours during the migration, so you don't have to update both. The old site wins if the two ever disagree.

[0.15.1] — 2026-08-10

  • Improved: The game page's Check-In Status panel was reorganised — each team gets its own card, and on narrow screens the per-row In/Out/Maybe buttons collapse into one status button that opens a picker.
  • Fixed: The score-entry form no longer appears on a game page before the game has actually been played.

[0.15.0] — 2026-08-10

  • Fixed: If you're added to a game as a spare, you can now set your own In/Out/Maybe status, and your jersey number shows correctly.
  • Fixed: The check-in panel closes at a game's actual start time, not only once a final score has been entered.

[0.14.1] — 2026-08-09

  • Changed: The Schedule page now defaults to showing Upcoming games instead of all games.
  • Changed: The check-in panel no longer shows on completed games — the box score is what matters there.

[0.14.0] — 2026-08-09

  • New: You'll automatically get a check-in email when a game's check-in window opens, plus a single reminder before game time (one email even if you have several games). You can turn these off with the check-in notification preference.

[0.13.1] — 2026-08-09

  • Fixed: You can now set your own In/Out/Maybe status straight from a game page, not only from the portal dashboard.

[0.13.0] — 2026-08-09

  • New: Check-in system. Set your In / Out / Maybe status for a game from the portal, or with one click from a no-login email link. Everyone sees a Check-In Status panel on the game page, grouped by Goalies / In / Out / Awaiting, with a shared status icon used everywhere.

[0.12.5] — 2026-08-08

  • Fixed: Game times now show the same wall-clock time everywhere (in league / Toronto time), instead of the home page and schedule page sometimes disagreeing by hours.

[0.12.4] — 2026-08-07

  • Changed: Removed the "New player? Claim your account" link from the sign-in screen — you're routed into claiming automatically after your first sign-in, so the separate link only caused confusion.

[0.12.2] — 2026-07-26

  • Fixed: Team crests render as rounded squares again — a stray style had been forcing every crest site-wide into a circle.

[0.12.0] — 2026-07-25

  • Improved: Team roster tables can be sorted by player name on mobile, not just by jersey number.

[0.11.0] — 2026-06-25

  • New: The Standings playoff bracket now shows real team names and colours and a running series record (e.g. 2–1) instead of seeded placeholders, with a "best of N" tag on series that use one.

[0.10.2] — 2026-06-23

  • New: The bare avatar circle in the top-right is now a full user menu — team-coloured avatar, your first name, and a dropdown showing your name, role, and current team · jersey number.
  • New: A Light / Dark appearance toggle in the user menu and mobile nav, remembered between visits.

[0.8.1] — 2026-06-22

  • Improved: The dashboard career stat block adds PIM and points-per-game, shows the season count, and adds a Playoffs block when you have playoff games.
  • Fixed: The home page no longer occasionally loads blank on a cold start.

[0.8.0] — 2026-06-22

  • New: Player Portal. Passwordless sign-in by magic-link email or Google. Claim your account by searching your name and linking your email. A dashboard with your avatar, career stats snapshot, next 3 games, and account controls. Upload a profile photo and banner.

[0.7.0] — 2026-06-22

  • New: The home hero shows a compact stat strip on narrow screens (league Pts leader, top scorer, top goalie GAA) with tappable rows.
  • New: Player profiles get a Regular / Playoffs toggle on the stat bar and a dedicated mobile layout.
  • New: Search results now include each player's stats (Pts/G or GAA/W) and current team.
  • Changed: The Schedule "Upcoming" filter now includes in-progress and postponed games, not just an exact "upcoming" match.

[0.6.1] — 2026-06-14

  • Changed: Small wording tweaks on the mobile stats toggle ("Career" → "All-Time", "Sk / Gk" → "SKT / G").

[0.6.0] — 2026-06-14

  • New: Mobile navigation overhaul — a fixed bottom tab bar (Home / Schedule / Standings / Stats / Teams), a compact slide-up season picker, and phone-friendly layouts for the schedule (score cards), standings, stats, and team pages.

[0.5.0] — 2026-06-12

  • New: Arenas page (/arenas) — every Ottawa-area rink OMHL uses, with Google Maps links and named ice surfaces for multi-pad facilities.
  • New: The Rules page is now a searchable accordion — type a keyword and matching sections expand.

[0.4.0] — 2026-06-12

  • Changed: Refreshed the primary logo (mascot redesign).
  • Improved: Faster home and schedule page loads.

[0.3.0] — 2026-06-11

  • New: Career leaderboards on the Stats page — an "All Seasons" option with sortable career tables for skaters and goalies.
  • New: Player profile improvements — a career row alongside current-season stats, and clickable team / season / "Member Since" links.

[0.2.0] — 2026-06-06

  • New: The OMHL website launched — home, schedule, standings, stats, teams, player profiles, global search, and rules.
